The Degrowth happy assumes that the correlation between economic growth and welfare is not necessarily positive, but there are often situations in which an increase in the gross domestic product (GDP) recorded a decrease in quality of life .
GDP simply calculates the monetary value of goods, ie products and services exchanged for money. The concept of good and the concept of commodity are not equivalent. Not all goods are goods, not all goods are goods. According to the proponents of the MDF (Movement Degrowth Felice), quite often there are cases where the processes of self-sufficiency, energy savings of and relations of exchange -not necessarily for the transit market - allow an increase in quality of life to a decrease in contextual GDP . Therefore, it is hoped the increase in welfare reducing the GDP by and self-sufficiency in its production. A classic example is that of 'peasant economy . Another interesting concept is certainly the philosophy STOP to land consumption, which last decade has become a major problem, with an extension devastating.
This use of land often became in pure waste, with tens of thousands of empty warehouses and vacant houses: soil removed from agriculture.
This unlimited growth considers the territory an inexhaustible resource, its protection is subject financial interests to often speculative. One deleterious mechanism to finance public services allows the sale of land. All this leads one hand it is out of many old towns , increase and other new residents, creating a sort of spiral: new spaces and new business which in turn mean more requests and questions service .. and so on ad infinitum, with devastating effects in the long run. Giving rise to what may be called the "city continues." Where there were towns and municipal identity, we now find immense suburbs, dormitory towns without a soul.
But legislators and administrators can make other choices, follow alternative routes? Yes! Those that lead to direct the building industry on the reconstruction and renovation of existing buildings energy.
As you can see, simply concrete action to save the place where we live and to ensure a better future for coming generations. But we must act now, by all means and in all locations. In this regard, Viveremontesanvito has always stressed the feasibility of effective safeguard territorial choices aimed, first giving heated battle with the reckless building development. Hence, the special attention that our association allatematica urban reserves, and - more precisely - variant to PRG. Confident directed to seek clarification during the public meeting of February 4, here we only report the proposals on the two sides that will face a runoff. Although both programs of the candidates for mayor talk about sustainable growth (with particular reference to need to develop services), the list of Sordoni - "Together for Monte San Vito" proposes the deletion of the same sub builders (C11, C12) under the variant in question, while that of the "Democrat and Reform" offers a reversal of trend that "as far as possible the further increase in residential building type."
